Experience of a returning customer
I ordered my first pair of shoes from Jackjonesbootmaker almost a year ago. They were black Derby loafers, which I wore almost daily to the office. After so much wear, the sole started to thin, and the leather, although still beautiful, needed a refresh. Instead of buying something else, I thought about returning to the workshop for a refurbishment.
I called the number on the site and spoke directly with someone from the workshop. They clearly explained what could be done: replacing the sole, hydrating the leather, and a careful polish. I sent the shoes by courier, and after two weeks I received them back, looking almost like new. The difference was especially noticeable on the sole – it now has a thicker rubber, which I hope will last at least another year.
What made me return was not just the quality of the repair, but also the fact that I didn't feel treated like a new customer. They reminded me that I had bought the Derby model and suggested I choose the same shade of black for the sole to preserve the original look. I appreciated that they didn't try to sell me a new pair, but solved the specific problem.
For me, this is what a serious workshop means: not just making good shoes, but also maintaining the relationship with those who wear them. The price of the refurbishment was reasonable, and the turnaround time was respected. I will probably return for a pair of cognac brogues as well, this time ordering the new model directly.
- I sent the old shoes (black Derby loafers) for refurbishment.
- They replaced the sole and hydrated the leather – the result was almost like new.
- I appreciated that they didn't try to sell me something else, but solved the problem.
- The price and timeframe were fair; I will order again.
"I returned for a refurbishment and got exactly what I needed: restored shoes, not a forced sale. The workshop's seriousness convinced me to order again."
