Review after the first month
I bought a pair of cognac brogues a month ago, for a wedding I was invited to. I wanted something that looks good but also lasts. After a month of almost daily wear, I can say the leather has molded nicely to my foot, and the natural leather insole hasn't accumulated any unpleasant odors. The sole stitched with linen thread seems solid, although I avoided stepping in puddles.
One detail I noticed is that the cognac shade has become slightly darker at the heel and toe, where the leather is rubbed more often. This doesn't bother me; on the contrary, it gives the shoes a more personal look. I received a few compliments at the event, and a friend asked about the workshop.
The only thing I would mention as a limitation is that, at first, the sole was quite stiff. After about ten days of wear it softened, but the first outings were a bit tiring for someone not used to a leather sole. Now they are comfortable and fit well on the foot.
My conclusion: for a handcrafted pair at this price, it's worth it. I will probably come back for black loafers, for the office.
